top 10 on the gospel music charts.
"The beginning. The genesis. An innocent little boy with goofy, spiky
hair and not a care in the world. Just a little kid. A son.
No worries. No wounds. Carefree and confident in the perfect
little world my parents provided for me," on the Bethel
Music Instagram page.
"I had to become a father to learn how to be a son -
In many ways, the Reckless Love single cover was the
introduction to my story.
Then the full-length album cover is my life coming full
circle. On the journey from boyhood to manhood there were a
million cracks in the road. But somehow the grace of God
swooped in with wings otherworldly and carried me safely
over each one. And finally, those mighty wings set me down
in a broad place.
Now I'm a father to my own little boy. And somehow, in so becoming, I'm a
little child again. Fully free and fully alive in my
Father's eyes. The brokenness didn't break me. No, we
rewrote the story in crimson ink. And I dance again like a
little boy. Nothing between us. Innocent and free just like
You always wanted. And I realize I've always been the dream
of Your heart. A son."
The album is the organic, soulful discovery whole-hearted
telling of an essential story in scripture: a father's
desire for connection with the ones he made, knows and
In its first week, ending Feb. 1, Reckless earned

"Reckless Love" -
While most of his time was spent in the Prayer Room (a 24/7 worship
room), Cory's 8-year journey at IHOP-KC took him all over the US and
to many other parts of the world, including Asia, the UK, and
Canada. Asbury is also a featured worship leader at IHOP-KC's annual
Onething conference, a gathering of 25,000 young adults that takes
place at Bartle Hall every December.
During his time at IHOP-KC, Cory's songwriting proliferated, and he
released two full-length records, Holy and Let Me See Your
Eyes. He has also been featured on a number of IHOP-KC and
Bethel Music live compilations. Bethel Music released its third
album with Cory in the fall of 2017, Starlight.
Cory was featured on the collective's "Have it All" album.
His previous solo releases include worship anthems such as "Where
I Belong," "So Good to Me," "Always Faithful" and "Jesus, Let
Me See Your Eyes."
Asbury continues to lead worship regionally and internationally at
various worship conferences and events.
Cory carries a passion to lead people into encounters with the love of
the Father. His voice and songs create an atmosphere of worship
charged with both the power and peace of God. His prophetic worship
style is marked by rich spontaneous moments and tenderness in God's
presence. Cory remains dedicated to a lifestyle of prayer and
Meanwhile, the Reckless title track lead single, which was
released in the fall of 2017, jumped into the top 10 on Hot
Christian Songs (which blends airplay, streaming and sales data),
giving Asbury his first top 10.
"Reckless" entered Christian Streaming Songs at No. 10 (1.1 million U.S.
streams), giving Asbury his maiden top 10 on that tally, as well.
The song also surges by 67 percent to 2 million audience impressions
and darts 33-27 on Christian Airplay.
On December 21st of 2016, Cory and his family transitioned to
Kalamazoo, Michigan to join Radiant Church where he now serves as
Worship Pastor. Cory is married to his wife, Anna, who also shares a
gift for music and prophetic worship. They have two beautiful
children, Gabriel and Lily.
